DOC SHOCK 

If drinking less or not at all is on your goal list, you may have made the right choice. A new study out of Brown University shows the link between drinking even a few alcoholic beverages and the changes in you genetically. It turns out that alcohol hijacks the memory formation pathway and changes the way neurons express proteins. This is what causes the brain to have craving. It only takes a few drinks drinks to change how memories are formed at the fundamental, molecular level.

Segment 2:

Today is the first day in a new and improved you. We’re going to give you 10 health goals – all of which you can easily follow. You can try all 10 or just pick a few, but either way, you’ll be on your way to a younger and healthier you!

Health Goals

  • Eliminate Sugary drinks – sodas, fruit juices, etc – why and how
  • Take artificial sweeteners out of your diet completely – why and how
  • Improve your sleep by getting more and better quality – why and how
  • Remove yourself from toxic situations and relationships. – how (you know why!)
  • Find a way to reduce your use of technology – how and why

Segment 3:

We’re talking about new year goals you can actually achieve. Pick them all or pick a few – either way you’ll be moving in the right direction

  • Limit or eliminate alcoholic beverages
  • Increase daily intake of vegetables – which and how
  • Increase your H2O intake – ½ your body weight in ounces
  • Be Present in the moment and increase midfulness
  • Serve others – even if you do nothing else
