Are you a mouthwash user?  Mouthwash can be a great way to prevent bad breath and improve dental hygiene.  In fact, many dentists recommend the use of mouthwash daily, but it may raise your blood pressure.  New research published in the journal: Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, shows that antiseptic mouthwash kills good oral bacteria that are responsible for converting dietary nitrate into nitric oxide (NO).  Nitric oxide aids in regulating blood pressure and without it, blood pressure begins to increase.  But, don’t go throwing away your mouthwash just yet.  The study was relatively small and more research needs to be completed.
