Blood clots can be a serious and sometimes deadly condition. If you sit too long, fly frequently, or have surgery, you can increase your risk for a blood clot. While there are different types of clots, I want to warn you about a kind called deep vein thrombosis, or DVT for short. This type is often found in an extremity and most likely in the leg or calf. If you experience pain or swelling in an extremity, or notice a red or hot area, notify your healthcare provider immediately. It’s always better to err on the side of caution. If caught early, blood clots can be treated before they become fatal.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could diagnose Alzheimer's disease early and with a simple eye exam? The research has found that in animal studies the retina of the animals with alzheimer's have unusual patterns as a reaction to amyloid plaques--which are also markers of the disease in the brain.
