Do you know how tall you are? Well, I guess that depends on what time of day you measure yourself. During our waking hours, we tend to shrink a little we move around and complete our tasks. Some of the shrinkage is due to the spine, which is full of fluid when you wake up, but it reduces with activity, compressing the spine slightly. Other loss is due to the compression of other joints, like your knees. For most of us, we’re taller first thing in the morning. For night shift workers, however, they’re tallest when they first wake up, regardless of what time of day or night that might be. If your vertically challenged like me – I think I’ll be sure to go with that 6am height.
