The sense of smell can be a powerful tool. The whiff of a particular food or perfume can send you down memory lane, bring back floods of happy memories. The opposite is true too. Smells can also be triggers for bad memories. You can use this to your advantage in business and in life. Never wear a heavy perfume to an important business meeting, you never know the other person’s experience with that scent. And, if you had a bad experience, perhaps a divorce or loss of a job and its time to reinvent yourself, change your scent too. Also, reserve different perfumes for different tasks in your life. I have a different perfume for work than I do for the weekend. That way my mind is set for either a long day of tasks or hours of down time.
