Adults need to be smart in their protein choices so we can get the most out of what we eat.
Studies suggest that our choices in protein aren’t the best. For example hamburgers and hot dogs
are not the best options. Start with lean choices for meat and meat alternates, these will give you
high protein with less fat. Don’t make the mistake of adding cream sauces, butter, and gravy to
your meats – that just adds calories, fat, and carbs. If you cook at home, be sure to trim the fat
before you cook, that keeps the fat from seeping into the meat. You can keep your meat healthy
by searing it first to hold the natural juices and keep it tender.
