New research presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) 2016 National Conference & Exhibition in San Francisco shows that the emergency rooms are seeing a big increase in the number of migraine headaches in their patient load. What’s strange about this - the headache increase is in the pediatric population. Interestingly enough, they have not studied the cause and are only offering the data of increased visits. Honestly, I am not surprised. Smart phones, lack of sleep, energy drinks, and even the stress of being a kid these days all play a role.
