Exercise is important to overall health, but do you need some tips on how to stick to a plan? This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute. Exercise always sounds good, but keeping a date with yourself to actually do it can be a problem. Research shows that teaming up for a challenge with a reward system actually has a high success rate. So basically, bet your co-worker $50 that you can keep your workout schedule. If you just need to challenge yourself, keep a jar and deposit $10 for every workout. Then at the end of 90 days, spend that money on something fun. It doesn’t matter where your motivation comes from, just get it done. Exercise is vital to good health, not only is it important for weight loss, it helps ward off depression and can improve your brain power.
