Is happiness on your New Year’s wish list? This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute. Being happier seems to be a trending goal as we enter this new year, but keep in mind that happiness is often the result of action. There are three things that you can do on a daily basis that are scientifically proven to improve your happiness level. First, exercise each day. Don’t say you don’t have time. Make time. At the bare minimum take a brisk 30 minute walk. Second, improve your sleep quality and quantity. Seven and a half hours of uninterrupted sleep is best. Third, say something nice to at least one person each day. If you catch yourself being negative, shut those thoughts down. Happy thoughts lead to happy actions.
