Everyone wants a smart child, right? If they sleep through the night, it’s even better. There’s a small thing you can do to increase your child’s IQ and improve their sleep patterns by simply changing their diet. This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute. We have long known that eating fish once a week has significant health benefits, but new research shows that children can benefit too. A study out of the University of Pennsylvania found that kids who eat fish once a week not only sleep better, they also have an average of four points higher on their IQ. So, next time you’re planning the family meal, be sure to put fish on the menu. It’s loaded with omega 3 fatty acids. Remember, cold water fish, like salmon and tuna are best because they have the highest nutrient levels. This Stay Young Medical Minute is brought to you by Executive Medicine of Texas, where patients come in from all over the globe for executive physical exams, age management, and concierge medicine. Visit Our Website for more information or call Executive Medicine of Texas at 800-910-3932.
