Isn’t it funny when a friend tells you something and then months or years later a study comes out to prove they were right? This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute. A friend of mine had dropped just over thirty pounds and I assumed she had made some drastic change, perhaps weightloss surgery. She told me how all she did was alter the time of day she ate, not necessarily her diet. She would only eat be between 10am and 4pm, fasting the rest of the time. I was shocked, but then a new research study was released from University of Alabama at Birmingham showing that people who only ate from 8am to 2pm had a higher metabolism and less cravings. While those aren’t the exact hours my friend was keeping with her eating plan, the number of eating and fasting hours remained the same. Looks like this may be something I might try. There’s so much great information on health and things you can do to live a longer and more active life. That’s why patients fly in to see the experts at Executive Medicine of Texas, a global leaders in age management. Visit EmTexas.com or call 800-910-3932 that’s EMTexas.com
