Segment 1

Intro – 30 sec.

Do you live from your head, your heart, your gut, or all three. Today we are going to discuss how living from each area can affect the decisions we make with our health and with our lives. We have a special guest coming up Nanette Hucknall to talk about her latest book How to Live From Your Heart

  • Discussion about the difference between living from the heart, head, or gut
  • When different times call for different responses
  • Personal stories about each

MUSIC FOR DOC SHOCK--THAT MUSIC MEANS ITS TIME FOR DOC SHOC. A TIME WHEN WE FIND SOMETHING SHOCKING IN THE NEWS OR WE’RE SHOCKED IT MADE THE NEWS.

RMIT University may be my favorite new place. They just invented a small capsule that you swallow. It measures the gases within the colon looking for disturbances of the microbiome as well as cancer. It just passed human trials and is going into full research mode. If it passes (no pun intended) clinical trials, it could revolutionize who we analyze the gut, perhaps doing away with screening colonoscopies and that dreaded cleanout process. One even more interesting finding from early studies – they proved that the inside of the colon actually contains oxygen and the more fiber in the diet, the more oxygen the gut holds.
