Could your eye exam be the key to identifying early Alzheimer’s disease? According to a recent study out of the Washington University School of Medicine, the health of the brain can be seen within the retina. The study looked at 30 patients over the age of 70 and found correlations between the thinning and blood restricted retina and the 17 patients that had early Alzheimer’s confirmed by PET scan or lumbar puncture.
