Show Topic: Diagnostic Tests – He ordered what?

Co-Hosts:  Mark Anderson, Walter Gaman

Guest: no guest

Segment 1

Intro – 30 sec.

(BE UPBEAT!!)- All of our listeners at some point in time have been to the doctor. Perhaps the doctor has ordered some additional tests. It’s easy for medical people to assume that everyone knows what these tests are, so today we will take you through the different tests and why a doctor may have ordered them.

For example (tease) – do you know the difference between an MRI and a CT? We will cover that!! What about the term invasive vs non-invasive, we will cover that too.

(Connect) We understand being sick can be frightening – empathy. Our goal is to take the fear factor out of getting tested.

(Inspire) Doctors order tests not because you HAVE something but to find out WHAT you have or DON’T Have – don’t assume the worst

MUSIC FOR DOC SHOCK (JIM)

The corticolimbic system governs emotional regulation and processing. Basically, this is the part of the brain that determines if you are laid back or hot headed. A new study published in the Journal of Neuroscience shows that researchers at UC San Francisco have identified that girls are more likely to inherit depression from their mothers.  Read the study!
