Do you drink?  This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute.  It was thought that a drink a day could provide some great health benefits.  However, new research says the dangers may outweigh the benefits.  A study out of Washington University School of Medicine found that even a small drink a day could negatively impact your health.  The study focused on the effects of alcohol on light drinkers.  The results weren’t good.  Researchers found that people who drank as little as four alcoholic drinks a week were at a twenty percent higher risk for premature death.  No one wants that.  It’s time to put down that drink, after all, it could slowly be killing you.  Talk to your doctor if you are showing symptoms of alcohol dependence.
