Are you team boxers of briefs? This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute. The debate over which type of underwear is best has been going on for years. Turns out, there is actually a scientific answer to this debate. New research out of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health suggests that the type of underwear you wear could affect fertility. So, which one is best? Boxers! The study found that fifty percent of the boxer wearing participants had a higher sperm count than those who wore briefs. The brief wearers also were more likely to have lower levels of FSH, making the production of sperm lower. If you are trying to get pregnant, you may want to switch up your type of underwear. Talk to your doctor if you think you may be struggling with infertility.
