A new study out of Pennsylvania State University in State College researched the properties of walnuts and the affects they have on heart health. They were able to link walnut consumption to lower blood pressure. Through their research, scientists found that walnut consumption can also decrease cardiovascular disease risk. But, before you get too excited, there is a catch. In order for the snack to aid in heart health, they must be consumed as part of a diet low in saturated fats.
