A study published in the 2010 Journal of Pain found that ginger can reduce exercise-induced muscle pain by a whopping 25%! As all the news reports will tell you, addiction to pain medications is skyrocketing. Finding natural ways to control pain is always a better alternative. The evening or afternoon after a big workout find ways to incorporate ginger into your routine. One thing I like to do is to take ginger root and peel and slice it into boiling water with cinnamon and lemon slices. After about 30 minutes of simmering, cool and drink. Not only does it help your muscles feel better, it does wonders for keeping colds and the flu at bay too.
