Our bodies have many other senses too--balance, temperature, and time, as well as proprioception — the body awareness that helps us not walk into things all the time — and nociception, our sense of pain. Doctors suggest that these powerful abilities our bodies regulate are more important for our functioning that the well-known others, but they largely go unnoticed.
