Segment 1
Let’s face it, we are all going to age. That doesn’t mean at 60 you need to look of feel like you’re 90. More and more people are making it to their 100th birthday without wheel chairs and with all their mental faculties.
THAT MUSIC MEANS IT’S TIME FOR DOC SHOC. A TIME WHEN WE FIND SOMETHING SHOCKING IN THE NEWS OR WE’RE SHOCKED IT MADE THE NEWS.
Neuroscientists at Duke University have found that a single type of neuron deep within the brain is the 'master controller' of habits. The research shows that if you form new habits, you boost the activity of this cell, known as the fast-spiking interneuron. However, shutting down it down may help break all those bad habits. While the study has only been completed in mice, it serves as a light of hope for those with addiction or obsessive compulsive disorder.
