A new NYU study found some interesting information about mouth bacteria, smokers and non smokers---and the smokers had a huge difference in the types of bacteria in their mouth. Those smokers had 10x more bad bacteria in their mouth---those that lead to cancer and rotting teeth, but the more interesting fact is that those smokers also had a 70% DECREASE in the good bacteria in their mouth--the kind that fights infection and keeps your body in equilibrium. Just another reason to put down those cancer sticks!
