Do you suffer from indigestion? This is Judy Gaman and this is your Stay Young Medical Minute. New research shows that common prescription and over the counter medications that are often taken for indigestion can actually lead to kidney damage. If you suffer from indigestion, perhaps you should consider using common foods to change the acidity of your stomach acid. Try having cucumber slices as a snack throughout the day, or sipping on cucumber infused water. Broccoli, either steamed or raw may also help. Cold milk has long been used to ease stomach pain from indigestion, but dairy is not indicated for stomach pain associated with an illness. Root vegetables like radishes can also help with acid reflux. Bottom line, if you can find a cure in your pantry or fridge, start there. This Stay Young Medical Minute is brought to you by Executive Medicine of Texas, a global leader in privative and proactive health. Visit EMTexas.com that’s EMTexas.com
